CLITORIA HELPS IN THE CURE OF ULCERS

CLITORIA TERNATEA LINN


Clitoria ternatea is a climbing vine with slender stems. The 5 to 7 leaflets are elliptic and oblong. The deep blue or white flowers are solitary. The many seeded pods are 5 to 10 cm long.

Medicinal use:
  • To check fever.
  • To reduce the size of the glands that develop around the ears and are associated with earaches.
  • Helps in the cure of ulcers.
  • Promotes the flow of urine.
  • Soothes and protects the alimentary tract and relieves inflammation.
  • Acts as a gentle bowel stimulant.
  • For the treatment of gonorrhea, the irritation of the bladder and urethra.
  • For griping pains in the stomach and enlargement of the abdominal organs.
How to use:
  • The mixture of the juice of the with green ginger is applied on various parts of the body to check fever.
  • The warm leaf juice mixed with salt is used for swollen glands around the ear in case of earache.
  • The leaves in infusion are recommended as a wash for ulcers.
  • The bark of the root promotes the flow of urine, soothes and protects the alimentary tract and relieves inflammation. It also acts as a gentle bowel stimulant.
  • The infusion of the powder of the dry root is given in cases of gonorrhea and irritation of the bladder and urethra.
  • The seeds are roasted and made into a powder to be used for children having griping pains in the stomach and enlargement of the abdominal organs.
Parts used:
The root, bark, leaves and seeds.

Dose:
Dry root, 1 to 2 grams for one litre of water. Roasted seed, 4 grams for children and 2 to 4 grams for abdominal enlargement. Leaves to be used in a normal dose.
