- Cure of cancer and dysentery and to control diabetes.
- Checks vomiting.
- Bruises.
- To reduce or eliminate fever.
- As a tonic, carminative, for strengthening and giving tone to the stomach, for purifying the blood, for tuberculosis, worms, burning pains, haemorrhoids or a mass of dilated veins in the swollen tissue near the anal sphincter, acute abdominal pain and swellings in various parts of the body.
- Mild purgative.
- The bark, root and leaves are crushed and applied externally to cure skin eruptions.
- The green leaves are to be eaten raw for the cure of cancer and dysentery. It also controls diabetes as it slows down the rate of starch breakdown to glucose which goes in to the blood stream.
- An infusion of the roasted leaves are used to stop vomiting.
- The crushed leaves may be applied externally over bruises.
- The decoction of the leaves is given to reduce or eliminate fever.
