HOW TO USE SACRED LOTUS AS TREATMENT OF RINGWORMS AND SKIN PROBLEMS

The Sacred Lotus is an erect aquatic plant, growing in tanks or ponds. The root-stock is stout and creeping. The round floating leaves are very attractive. The flowers are red, white, pink, or yellow, with numerous petals. The fruits are large, enclosing many carpels. The Buddhists consider the flowers sacred. The underwater runners and petioles are dried, cooked and eaten by some people.

Medicinal use of Sacred Lotus:
  • To soothe and relieve inflammation in the case of piles.
  • Dysentery and indigestion.
  • Ringworms and skin problems.
  • Brings down high fever and relieves headache.
  • Treatment of leprosy.
  • Helps during painful or difficult urination.
  • Checks vomiting.
  • Promotes the flow of urine.
  • Has a cooling effect when there is a burning sensation in the body.
  • Checks excessive bleeding during menstruation.

How to use:

  • The roots of the lotus are recommended for piles, dysentery and indigestion. As a paste, it is used for ringworm and skin problems.
  • The pounded leaves are applied to the body for high fever, irritated skin and over the forehead to relieve headache. The young leaves are used in piles, leprosy and painful or difficult urination problems.
  • The seeds are indicated to check vomiting, and are given to help promote flow of urine in children.
  • The filaments are cooling, and used when there is a burning sensation of the body. It is also helps in bleeding piles and is used for excessive bleeding during menstruation.

Dose
10 grams for 1 litre of water.
Use 3 to 4 cups a day.
