JACK TREE GIVES TONE AND VITALITY TO THE BODY

ARTOCARPUS HETEROPHYLLUS LAM The Jack tree is well-known for its very large fruit which sometimes weighs over 30 kilograms. It grows well in the tropics and is loved by most of the local inhabitants. The tree grows to a height of 10 metres or more with many heavy branches and foliage which provide a beautiful shady picnic or resting spot. The edible pulp inside the fruit is fleshy and yellow when ripe. The unripe fruit is also eaten as a vegetable. Medicinal use: Diarrhoea, fever and asthma. Ulcers, wounds, glandular swellings and insects bites. As a laxative, for giving tone and vitality to the body and for acute abdominal pain. How to use: The decoction of the root is a good remedy for diarrhea, fever and asthma. MELIA AZEDARACH LINN. Persian Lilac is a short native tree of southwestern Asia, but is cultivated on other parts of the world too. It grows from 8 to 12 metres high. The trunk is a little stout, with spreading branches. The leaves are bipinnately compound and alternate, having several sharply serrate leaflets. The flowers are purplish.
